World Environmental Health Day celebrates the discipline of environmental health and creates awareness around critical environmental health issues that affect our health.
Today, we are bringing awareness to the theme for the year: Creating Resilient Communities through Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation, which is very pertinent now. This means ensuring that communities will be able to withstand climate shocks such as extreme heat or flooding by implementing disaster management plans, adapting to the new climate and working on reducing our greenhouse gas emissions.
